Judge Lance Ito may have to remove himself from the OJ Simpson trial. Ito says he will step down and bring in a new judge if the Prosecution insists on calling his wife, LAPD Captain Margaret York, to testify regarding comments LAPD Detective Mark Furhman made about her during a taped interview with a screen writer. The Simpson defense team want to use the tapes to prove that Furhman lied on the stand when he testified that he's never used certain racial slurs.
Here, prosecutor Marcia Clark forcefully fights back from accusations from the defense that she wants a mistrial because she knows the prosecution is losing the case. Clark states that it was impossible for anyone to plant any evidence against Simpson, and that the defense is trying to "play the race card".
